I have given myself the challenge of trying to create more order in my life. There are areas where I manage well and others where I fail dismally and cause me stress. I would love nothing more, than to have routines and habits that enable life to just flow better. I am hoping that by posting everyday the various areas that need I feel improvement, that it will keep me accountable and I will achieve my to do list for once in my life.
I mentioned before about how I like my Monday’s to be my catch up from the weekend days. The last month, I have been working at bringing the routines back into force, with moderate success. Planning the week ahead, is one routine that didn’t fall completely by the wayside the last few months.
Over the years, I have used a variety of systems to plan my week. From planning the day by the hour, to having a generic plan.
My current planner is one I created, as I can’t find English diaries/ planners here in Japan. I’ve printed off the pages I needed and had it spiral bound.
After I got rid of my Goals for 2015, I began to feel, that I needed a space in my planner for what I wanted to achieve. (Ok- so they could be classed as goals!) I have three pages like this, where I can write down what I would like to achieve over the next academic term.
Each Sunday evening, or Monday morning I like to sit down with my calendar, my planner and fill in the various appointments, what needs doing and so forth. It’s working for me at the moment, but I will most likely adjust it for next year. (Possibly removing the To Do Lists and creating a notes box and reminders box- so there’s less stress, but a list of what needs to be done. )
So that’s my planner.
Today I can safely say- I achieved today’s challenge.
I planned my week. 🙂
