I have given myself the challenge of trying to create more order in my life. There are areas where I manage well and others where I fail dismally and cause me stress. I would love nothing more, than to have routines and habits that enable life to just flow better. I am hoping that by posting everyday the various areas that need I feel improvement, that it will keep me accountable and I will achieve my to do list for once in my life.
I have enjoyed a lovely day out with my hubby exploring the town of Kawagoe, as it’s a national holiday in Japan and our children all had school.
Create a gift list.
I must confess that I did this last week, when my children were on half term. I created a simple list on the Pages App on my iPad, which I then emailed to my phone so that I always have it with me. I put my gift ideas down in italics, to straighten up when I’ve bought the item.
Plan when I’m going shopping:
The tentative date is 26 November, but with ‘A’ heading off to the UK later this month, I need to be organised with M’s gift beforehand.
I want to head out to Odaiba, as it has the shops I need, a beach I can have a stroll on and a huge choice of restaurants. Overall should be a pleasant day out!
Find a packing list printable.
The main reason I was sorting the gifts was because they (and the hand me down toys and clothes) were beginning to clutter up my cupboard. So I sorted them and created my gift list and packed them into a suitcase ready to go. Thankfully we are flying with Emirates so we get 30kg of luggage.
I spent a fair chunk of my trip home from Kawagoe surfing Pintrest for some holiday packing printables. I found one I really like, but I’m not stressed enough about it to pay $8 for it, when I know it’s something I can and enjoy making. If creating a list is not be your thing, then have a look at it. So for now, I’ve not had much joy in finding a list, maybe on the weekend I’ll get creative…
Create a list of what we would like to do while in South Africa.
By 6pm this evening I hadn’t managed as much as I had hoped, notably as I was struggling to find a packing list that ticked all my boxes which of course ate into my valuable Internet research time. When I sit down to plan a trip I tend to spend a rather large number of hours surfing the web- heading over to the local Tourist Information website, TripAdvisor and seeking advice and recommendations from friends and family. This time I also have my memories from living there for 5 years. What I would also like to share it with my family and see what they would like to do on the list. So possibly I’ll do this on the weekend too…
Hmm… that’s two things spilling over into my precious weekend time.
So while today I haven’t achieved my on my challenge, other then some ideas in my head, I have had an amazing day spending time with my hubby and exploring a whacky old town.
Definitely a more worthwhile way to spend a national holiday day.
