It’s Been a While…

I’ve spent the majority of the summer holidays with my family in South Africa. We have had an amazing time catching up, relaxing, having mini trips away, getting to know my siblings children.

While ‘A’ did join us for 10 days, he was in Tokyo working hard for the majority of the 6 weeks that I was away.

It’s been a while- in being able to spend time with my husband and continue to grow our relationship.
It’s been a while since I’ve had to cook and keep home on a regular daily basis.
It’s been a while since I’ve checked my goals for 2014 and monitored my progress.
It’s been a while since I visited my allotment. Boy I didn’t realise that weeds could grow so fast!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted a new post.

But that’s fine…

What I personally don’t do very often is give myself grace to fail. Oh I often fail, but I won’t often admit it, pick myself up and continue.
No, I’m more of the ‘I’ve failed, therefore let’s quit.’ mentality.

It’s the start of the new school year, so a great chance to review the goals for 2014, even if there is only 1/4 of the year left, and pick up where I left off.

Today, I’m not going to quit. I’m going to pick up where I was and finish the race. I might not be able to achieve everything that I set out to do in 2014, but I am going to finish and finish strong!

About Cheryl

I am a child of God, a wife and a mother of 4 children. Some days are good. Some days are frustrating. Some days are just plain insane. In between the mayhem, I loved to go for walks with our mutt, potter in the garden and enjoy the beauty that surrounded us. That all changed in August 2012 when we waved goodbye to our mutt and garden, our eldest at Uni in Gloucester and moved to Tokyo for 4 months. And yes- we are still here...
