Spring into Spring Series- Imperial Palace Gardens and Kitanomaru Park

I so love spring.       The feeling of the days getting longer…         Seedlings piercing the ground….       The milder temperatures…..        The sound of birds calling for a mate……      The sun gently stirring sleeping world.

Spring into spring

I want to get out. To explore. To potter on my patch of earth. To marvel at the beauty around us.

To this end- I’m starting this series. Every Monday for the next 6 weeks, I am going to post my moments as I ‘Spring into Spring’. They will mainly be of explorations of the Japanese Spring, that I will do with my family, but there might be others- who knows where the spring will take us. If you want to join in- please share a link to your blog. Enjoy as we ‘Spring into Spring’

Kitanomaru Park  The sight that greeted us as we left Kudanshita Station exit 2 was mind-blowing. The sakura were in full bloom around the moat and the tourists- both local and foreign- clicking the scene were quite entertaining!

Needless to say it didn’t take me long to join them!

A small wander after Kitanomaru Park  brings us to the Imperial Palace East Gardens. These were spectacular and I had loads of fun photographing the various blooms and not just the sakura! P1060509P1060528

I am planning to go back again soon as some of the bushes were hinting of another display which should be as inspiring! P1060508

Have you ‘Sprung’ into spring yet?

About Cheryl

I am a child of God, a wife and a mother of 4 children. Some days are good. Some days are frustrating. Some days are just plain insane. In between the mayhem, I loved to go for walks with our mutt, potter in the garden and enjoy the beauty that surrounded us. That all changed in August 2012 when we waved goodbye to our mutt and garden, our eldest at Uni in Gloucester and moved to Tokyo for 4 months. And yes- we are still here...
