Horrible Hairwashes

Being the mother of 2 girls, there comes a night in the week that I dread. To the point that I ‘forget’ or come up with some excuse as to why we aren’t going down that route…

Hair Wash.

I don’t know what I did back in the early days, but my girls hate having their hair washed…’it’s cold’…’shampoo in my eyes’… ‘You’re pulling my hair’…. All at a decibel that would have the local neighbourhood watch wonder whether they should call social services.

I have vague recollections of giving my mum grief when she used to brush my hair in the morning. Did I do the same at hair wash? Is this my ‘just desserts’ for my childhood?
Am I the only mum who tortures their child every hair wash?

How do I change it?
My girls are girly girls so giving them a hair cut isn’t an option. Believe me I’ve tried…

Washing their hair on a Sat morning did help.
Getting them to do it themselves does too..
Maybe that’s the solution…. Saturday mornings on their own…

Otherwise, its only get their hair washed during the summer months…..

About Cheryl

I am a child of God, a wife and a mother of 4 children. Some days are good. Some days are frustrating. Some days are just plain insane. In between the mayhem, I loved to go for walks with our mutt, potter in the garden and enjoy the beauty that surrounded us. That all changed in August 2012 when we waved goodbye to our mutt and garden, our eldest at Uni in Gloucester and moved to Tokyo for 4 months. And yes- we are still here...
