Luke Study Week 2: Obedience

I have struggled to do the Luke Study in a week and have already fallen behind.

Week 2 started by looking at the phrase Obedience and how Mary and Joseph were obedient to God’s Word.
From accepting the pregnancy, following Jewish traditions and presenting Jesus at the temple to fleeing to Egypt as per God’s instruction in a dream.
Those were some pretty tall orders to Mary and Joseph, but they followed them.

They were obedient

I have felt rather challenged by this word. That I need to become more obedient and follow God’s will for my life.
What I felt truly challenged by was a simple phrase that Angela said on her video on Monday morning. (find it here)

“What has God called you to do? I believe God has an exciting plan for our lives. The first start of that adventure that He has called us to, I believe is the start of obedience- the first step”

To climb a mountain you need to take the first step.
To be in Gods will, we need to take the first step.

That of obedience.

So every day, I am going to sit down with God and ask Him what His will is for my day.
And then step out and do it!

Will you join me?

About Cheryl

I am a child of God, a wife and a mother of 4 children. Some days are good. Some days are frustrating. Some days are just plain insane. In between the mayhem, I loved to go for walks with our mutt, potter in the garden and enjoy the beauty that surrounded us. That all changed in August 2012 when we waved goodbye to our mutt and garden, our eldest at Uni in Gloucester and moved to Tokyo for 4 months. And yes- we are still here...
